17 Pro Teams Announced For '09 Amgen Tour of California

Today, AEG announced the teams for the 2009 Amgen Tour of California, a nine day stage race early in the pro race calendar. There will be 17 pro teams, along with a handful of domestic teams. Last year, the race was a miserable string of racing, including bitter cold, horrible rains and a lot of racers dropping out due to the brutal and sometimes dangerous conditions. Here’s to better weather for the 2009 edition.

I’m also hoping that I’ll get to go to this race one day. Maybe Amanda and I can make a vacation out of the Tour of California one of these years.
