Local Metorologist

// January 22nd, 2005 // Comments Off // Weather

Man, the local Metorologist couldn’t get the weather right to save their lives. Even the radio station here that I listen to (G105) noticed and kept commenting on their complete inaccurancy. We mostly paid attention to www.weather.com. Those guys predicted Wednesday’s snow dusting (which took everyone by surprise and incapacitated the Triangle) and have been right on the money thus far.

It’s pretty funny too, because now that the local guys have been so far off they are starting to overreact and call for snow showers every night. Ummm… that’s not real helpful guys!!

Supposedly we have bad bad weather today and Sunday. I just walked the dog and there’s no snow, no rain, no ice. It was cold but that’s nothing unusual. My prediction… no snow this weekend.

Snow Please

So the first little bit of snow is gone and now we’re forecasted to get some overnight. I really don’t want to work tomorrow, so I’m hoping to wake up to 2 inches of ice and snow in the morning to give us a three day weekend. *fingers crossed*

Fantastic Four Movie

Holy crap! How did I not hear about this before? That’s Jessica Alba in the Fantastic Four movie coming out in July! Looks like she’ll be playing Susan Storm/Invisible Woman. I hope she isn’t invisible too much in the movie. I’m going to have to see that one:

YAY! Snow!

// January 19th, 2005 // Comments Off // Weather

WOOOHOOO! I saw my first (falling) snow of my life today! It was so amazing. I ran outside in the midst of it coming down and was in awww. It was so incredibly beautiful. It was snowing fairly hard at my work in north Raleigh (as compared to here at home).

I love the snow… well, except when I am driving in it. I saw several wrecks on my way home and some people acting like idiots speeding and making aggressive moves. I left work early today because what normally takes me 30 minutes to get home took me a little over 1 hour. The roads were pretty gross in Raleigh but gradually got better as I approached Durham.

YAY! I am so completely stoked. It’s awesome. Well, I am off to take a few pictures to send home to my folks.

Yeah yeah yeah! :)

1st Snow of 2005 in Raleigh-Durham

// January 19th, 2005 // Comments Off // Weather

Well, supposedly, there had been flurries in Raleigh before, but this is the first snow I’ve witnessed this winter, and it’s Amanda’s first snow period.

There’s not much here at work in Cary, but here’s what it looked like a few minutes ago:

American Idol Season 4

// January 18th, 2005 // Comments Off // TV Talk

So “American Idol’s” 4th season started out tonight with a two hour block. So far, it’s been as amusing and entertaining as the others have begun. I just hope I don’t lose interest like I did at the end of last season.

This is an interesting take on the Mac Mini’s future utility. Jeff sent me this link last week, and I’ve been meaning to post it ever since:

That's All Folks

Well sadly (at least on one had), tonight was my final night at the Apple Retail Store. I will be sad to no longer work with some cool-ass people and with cool ass products. My head is absolutely killing me, so will type more tomorrow. It was cool working at Apple for a year, but will be nice to be back down to one job and have my nights and weekends back.
