Congrats to my friend, Bret and the rest of the Centerline crew. Today, the Flash-based web site is being they designed for the Hurricanes – ourteam.hurricanes.com, is being featured on Adobe’s Site of the Day It’s a pretty big honor, bigger recognition, and wonderful promotion and publicity for Centerline. Congrats. Check out the site, if you hadn’t already checked it out after I posted previously about it.

New Hurricanes Site By My Bud Bret

Our Team Hurricanes SiteSo Bret, who’s moved on from Ulanguzi Creative Strategies to bigger and better things got to do a really cool Flash/web project recently that just launched yesterday — just in time for the Carolina Hurricanes first pre-season match.

The real highlight of the site is the little Flash game he did, where you get to customize a player with your name and number on a jersey and then shoot against Carolina Hurricanes goalie, Cam Ward. He added a nice little hook too in the ability to unlock two other jerseys. Check me out, I’m in the high scoring list (as of the time of this post).

The site also allows you to browse for seats, enter to win prizes, and download wallpapers and screen savers. Way to go Bret! Our [not-so] little buddy is growing up so fast, learning and building on his skills tenfold over there at Centerline!

JZ's Bachelor Party

// June 15th, 2008 // 1 Comment » // Friends, Personal Crap

John's Bachelor PartySo despite stressing and bit and worrying about everything and everyone showing up for John’s bachelor party last night, everything went off without a hitch. I think everyone had a good time, especially John, which is all that really matters.

I wanted the whole night to be a bit of a nostalgic trip from days past, back to our times at UNC, and time immediately after school so everything was focused around Chapel Hill.

John, Bill and I started at the DSI Comedy Theater in Carrboro for an improv comedy shows, along the lines of the ones John and I used to frequent on Franklin Street back in the day. It was pretty good and amusing, though as can be expected with improv, some of the bits worked better than others. I need to get Amanda and maybe some others out to a show in the coming months. Being a fan of “Whose Line Is it Anyway,” I think she’d enjoy it a bunch. Maybe Bret and Tina would enjoy as well.

After the comedy show, we heading down to Carolina Brewery for a few beers and some dinner. Two other guys joined up with us there and we had a good time eating and drinking. One of the other guys that joined up with us was JC, who brought a long a nice set of Energizer Bunny foam ears that John wore from then till the end of the night. They were a big hit and got John plenty of attention everywhere we went on Franklin Street.

Rock Band and Karaoke Revolution

IMG_2477Uneventful and low-key day here at the Keefers.

We did finally meet up with our good friends Bret and Tina this afternoon and evening in Durham. Amanda hadn’t seen either of them in awhile and we always have a good time hanging out.

With all of our travel, and miscellaneous activities, it’s kep us from hanging out with them (or really anyone). Hell, I hadn’t even played Bret online on Xbox Live except one time in the past few weeks.

IMG_2498The four of us started over at Frankie’s for some Go-Kart, arcade, skee-ball, etc. action. Then we headed over to our restaurant of choice when we all get together in this area – Wild Wild Cafe, with dessert at Maggie Moo’s.

Eventually we ended back here for the staple of Rock Band (World Tour), even getting Amanda in on vocals for a few tracks. Bret and I especially are getting pretty damn good with him on drums, and me on guitar. At some point, it’d be great to make a serious dent in the World Tour mode.

IMG_2488We also introduced them to the Xbox 360′s first version of the Karaoke Revolution series, explaining the pictures in this post. It’s not as much fun in my humble opinion as rocking out with a four piece band in Rock Band (especially if they would get back on releasing good new downloadable tracks!) Keefer Madness needs more unique photos. We need a few of us doing the Rock Band thing. Oh well, maybe next time. Regardless, the 360 with group games rocks, especially with good friends.
