So cool!

Thanks to Bret for tweeting me this link. With it being an electric vehicle, it’ll definitely have more torque than the original. In fact, under the hood, it should beat the original every which way. 260 horsepower with a maximum speed of 125MPH sounds pretty nice.

Sadly, the price tag is going to be out of reach of most Back to the Future fanboys, going somewhere north of $100,000.

I’m not going to make the obvious jokes about Flux Capacitors or Mr. Fusions being options, like Engadget felt the need to do.

Man, on the surface, I’d love to live in a town like this — it’d be safer and cleaner. But how do you get deliveries from FedEx, furniture, etc. I’d love to at least visit and try a town like this.

I miss being able to bike to work — maybe will be able to revisit that concept (or at least a partial) starting this coming summer when we’re in our new office building.

A Town Without Cars: Bicycle City

This seems like a great way for drivers to maximize their vehicle’s miles per gallon. It’s just a matter of if this ever sees the light of day, and if it ends up being affordable. Can you imagine though, over the lifetime of your vehicle how much money you could save by having the four pieces making contact with the road always optimally inflated.

Only hurdle to overcome with this would be how to adjust as temperatures rise and fall.

Obviously, I can envision this as an application for cycling as well, though I wonder if the low-air, but high pressures would work with a system like this.

Regardless, will be keeping an eye out for this technology, and hopefully it will be a little more reliable than most vehicles’ tire pressure monitoring systems.

These rumors have been swirling for quite awhile, and it makes total sense to me. The turbo-charged big brothers of the Impreza really already have major differences to their the naturally-aspirated Impreza. I get it.

Subaru to Split WRX From Rest Of Impreza Line, Make It Smaller

Meant to post this Wednesday night after reading about it. Even the pro’s like to switch it up—a mountain bike in lieu of their typical road bike. The professionals of auto racing are no different. Take NASCAR driver Tony Stewart and F1 driver Lewis Hamilton. They got to swap rides for a few laps and it sounds like they enjoyed the crap out of it. It’s got to be a big shock to the system— the characteristics of the handling, acceleration—even shifting all crazy different. I keep thinking of the scene in Days of Thunder where the crew chief (played by Robert Duvall) is explaining to new to stock car racing, Tom Cruise how the weight and tires are different—how the stock cars weight twice as much and the tires are half as wide and vice versa on the open wheel cars.

Tony Stewart and Lewis Hamilton Swap Cars at The Glen

I’m a big fan of the Japanese automakers Subaru, Toyota and Honda. They’re all big companies, but Honda especially. Honda and Toyota have both gotten involved in robotics, but I believe Honda’s the first of the three to take take to the skies.

This one has a local angle too — with the plane being manufacturer about an hour west of here in Greensboro, NC.

I definitely will keep an eye on this project. If their planes are anything like their ground vehicles (cars and motorcycles), they’ll make quality aircraft that are reliable, efficient and affordable.

Ever since the Subaru Impreza WRX made its bug-eyed American debut, I’ve been a big fan of all things Impreza including the WRX and STi. It’s gone through a fair amount of design change, refinement and ups and downs. Through it all, still a big fan. Check out the review of the pricey, but cool 2011 STi:
