In a series of daily post, it looks like I’m sharing nothing videos. Sorry, but these are all relevant to me and my life and interests. They’re also quick and easy to post.
This one is all about cycling and cyclists. Funny, but almost entirely true.
A co-worker who is as big of a Back to the Future fan as I am, sent this video to me yesterday — test footage of the hoverboard filming and effect. So cool, and well done. We were saying it was so well done, it’d be hard to improve on the effect in present day.
Even with the shuttle being retired for over a half a year, we’re still getting cool media.
Check the video after the jump for an audio and video journey of one of the solid rocket boosters launches, gets separated from the shuttle orbiter, and then descends and parachutes into the ocean.
It’s a compilation of footage from STS-117 (Atlantis) and STS-127 (Endeavour). Very cool.
In a time when the U.S. doesn’t have a way to get humans in space and the budget to reinstate that is dwindling, Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson’s remarks in front of the Senate are appreciated and sobering.
Man, can’t wait to see these guys in Greensboro! Solo sounds good. Hope Eddie keeps everything in check and can rock this 2012 tour from beginning to end.
This one is making its rounds today. I’ve had two people this morning send it to me. It’s a well done video that sums up the Carolina Basketball legacy quite well. Enjoy. Go Tar Heels!
This was posted two days before Christmas, but I just found it on YouTube yesterday. It highlights NASA’s accomplishments in 2011 — a year that was highlighted with the 30+ year space shuttle program decommissioned, scientific missions (including Juno, MSL Curiosity, Aquarius and the one I got to see launch, GRAIL) and partnerships with four different commercial companies taking over and modifying Kennedy Space Center facilities to continue low-Earth orbit.
NASA is now poised to focus on further targets. The video is quite long but simultaneously very in-depth and informative.
Just heard this parody of the Apple iPhone 4S/Siri commercial when I was listening to the latest episode of This Week in Tech on the drive into work. Too funny.
