Construction Begins on Chatham Stretch of American Tobacco Trail
// November 8th, 2008 // Cycling, Local (Raleigh Durham)
This is huge news for cyclists all around the Triangle here in central North Carolina. The American Tobacco Trail is where I first cut my teeth cycling. Every inch of trail in Durham and Chatham counties I’m very familar with – first learning the ins and outs of doing lots of miles in the saddle. Many times on the mountain bike, I’ve flown through Chatham county’s dirt trail to the unfinished bridges. It’s been a year or two since I last hit that portion. I look forward to taking Amanda out there to introduce her to these parts of the trail she’s never seen. Plus, having two of the three bridges on the trail completed will be completely awesome!
