End of Season Nears
// September 11th, 2008 // Cycling, Personal Crap
So as the football season is just spooling up, my first full cycling season is winding down. I think my body is starting to feel it.
Over the season, I’ve proudly had lots of top ten finishes. I’ve integrated bike commutes with hill climbs into my routine, which had helped immensely. I’ve dropped weight, gained muscle mass and reduced some body fat.
Other than some road rash, I’ve had very minimal pain and discomfort. But I think as September progresses, so is my body’s fatigue. My lower back has been starting to have pain in the same place pretty often. It’s gotta be a combination of time in the saddle/in the drops and stress/sitting at work.
Regardless, it’s about to call it a season. I’ve got a crit Sunday in Wake Forest and then the series finale out at Ace Speedway on Tuesday. Then think it’s time to rest up and train for early 2009. Then the next question is whether I start ’09 in cat5 or upgrade to cat4?
