Generic Response from DirecTV
// March 30th, 2003 // TV Talk
So I emailed DirecTV to try to get a date when ESPN HD or even Discovery HD would be on DirecTV. Got this generic response:
Dear Ryan,
Thank you for writing DIRECTV. We appreciate your interest in high
definition programming. We hope to be able to offer Discovery Channel
and ESPN programming in high definition. However, as it is DIRECTV
policy not to disclose information about upcoming programming until it is officially announced, we do not have a date when we can expect it at this time.
As you can imagine, HDTV programming is expensive to produce and is
available in a limited quantity at the moment. We are in constant
discussions with all types of program providers and will continue to
increase the number of high definition programs we offer as they become available. Please continue to visit DIRECTV.com for news and updates.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
