Playing Around With Tilt Shift Photography

canes-tiltshiftSo Amanda and I have been lying here reading up on tilt-shift photography. I’ve seen several articles on it, and lots of examples. I still to this day, do not fully understand how it really works, but love the miniaturization effect it creates, the selective focus and the shallow depth of field it can create in certain photographs.

It’s called TiltShift Generator and is simultaneously a great tool to use on select photos, and can also be a fun little time waster.

Photos taken from further away seem to take on the miniaturization effect better. I can see the effect being overused, but can also make a photo that would just be tucked away in your iPhoto a candidate to be printed out and framed.
