Running a PC Laptop, Feeling Dirty

So a couple years back, I got Amanda a Dell laptop a few years back, installed with Windows Vista. It started out OK, perfect for surfing, checking email, etc. But it soon started having problems, lockups, with a garbled display. I eventually got her a better machine – an Apple MacBook.

The PC has been basically sitting idle for the better part of a year, since we got her MacBook up and running. Recently though, with the release of the Windows 7 release candidate and Firefox 3.5 (beta 4), I thought I’d pull the Dell Inspiron out of mothballs and see if the pair of pre-release software could help.

So far it has. The laptop so far seems pretty fast and stable. I do feel a little dirty though – even though I’m only using the Dell for occasional surfing and blogging. Apple, I still love ya.
