20 Lies Back to the Future II Told Us (Besides the Hoverboards)

// May 1st, 2013 // No Comments » // Back to the Future, Film

Came across this yesterday when trying to debunk the date they travelled to in the future for a friend/co-worker.

Not sure if my favorite is the whole Cubbies thing, or the fax machine’s prevalence.

Restored ‘Back to the Future’ Hero Delorean Time Machine Now On Display at Universal Studios

// February 18th, 2013 // No Comments » // Back to the Future, Film, Planes, Trains & Automobiles

I’ve been to Universal Studios Florida a pair of times (and will have to go back a third time so Tyler and Nolan can experience the stuff too). But the Universal Studios on the other coast has the real gem — the newly museum-quality restoration of the Back to the Future hero car utilized in the film trilogy and various other BTTF-related productions.

BTTF Screenwriter Bob Gale, spearheaded the process of getting the car fully restored and assembled a team to get every detail perfect. Which it really looks like they did. The Delorean looks great, and I’d love to see the car up close and personal. I guess that could happen with a trip to Los Angeles. Not likely any time soon though.

Special Effects Supervisor Michael Lantieri Reflects on the ‘Back To The Future’ Sequels

// October 25th, 2012 // No Comments » // Film

Fellow Back to the Future fanboys will eat up this article as much as I did. I’ve read and watched a bunch on the BTTF trilogy, and a lot of this article’s information and photos were new to me.

Makes sense, but the flying DeLorean was a fiberglass cast. As the DeLorean is landing in BTTF II in 2015 in the rain, I always something looked a little off. Also related, love that Michael J. Fox inadvertently snapped one of the guide cables, doing damage to the fiberglass DeLorean.

And another DeLorean tidbit — the stuff about the BTTF III Delorean on the VW frame, and the filming of part of the train sequence backwards for safety are real gems.

The DeLorean, Back To The Future’s Time Machine, Is Now A Bike

// May 22nd, 2012 // No Comments » // Cycling, Planes, Trains & Automobiles

Are you telling you made a time machine out of a DeLorean Bike? No, just a stainless steel branded DeLoran bike I’d love to get one, if it weren’t $5,500. If I was going to shell out $5,500 for a bike, I’d get one a Specialized Tarmac SL4 Pro Ui2 Mid-Compact or maybe a Cervelo R3.

Hoverboard Test Footage from Back to the Future II

// April 3rd, 2012 // No Comments » // Film, Video

A co-worker who is as big of a Back to the Future fan as I am, sent this video to me yesterday — test footage of the hoverboard filming and effect. So cool, and well done. We were saying it was so well done, it’d be hard to improve on the effect in present day.

Look at Mattel’s Hoverboard Prop-Replicas

// March 5th, 2012 // No Comments » // Film

Check it out — there’s finally going to be a hoverboard. Granted it’s not going to have the hover part. But check out the article and the video about the whole prop replica coming soon.

The video is also coincidentally hosted by the guy who provided the voice for Marty McFly in the recent TellTale Games Back to the Future game series.

Prices are a little steep and the pre-order is only through a little past mid-month. I’d love to get one, but not sure it’s in the cards for the Keefer household.

PercyFX App Launches on iOS and Blackberry

// January 17th, 2012 // No Comments » // Film, iPad, iPhone

Saw this over at bttf.com. I’ve yet to download it to my iPhone, but will check it out in the morning. Seems like it could either be pretty cool, or pretty clunky. I’ll post a followup after I’ve downloaded and played around with.

But just so you know, I’m pretty much a sucker for anything Back to the Future related.

PercyFX App Launches on iOS and Blackberry, Melding the Best of Entertainment and Technology for Back to the Future Fans

Update: OK, I can already tell you, this is pretty worthless. No video clips are included with the app itself. You have to buy credits to get clips. Then, the clips don’t have the original soundtrack, and most of the text effects are just total cheese. The flying DeLorean that ends Back to the Future and the Hill Valley clock tower getting struck by lightning with a custom message inserted just aren’t worth anything to me. I can’t see getting any utility out of this. Deleted within five minutes of installing. Don’t waste your time.

"Marty McFly" AJ LoCascio Interview From New Back to the Future Game

// January 17th, 2011 // No Comments » // Film, Gaming

I still haven’t had the time (nor money) to play the first episode of the brand new Back to the Future game, but the Angry Video Game Nerd recently did a pretty extensive interview with AJ LoCascio, who is doing the voice of Marty for the new game. Pretty interesting stuff for Back to the Future fanboys, like myself.

Back to the Future: The Game Now Available

// December 31st, 2010 // No Comments » // Film, Gaming

Back to the FutureI missed this release with the holidays and all. The first episode (of five!!!) of new Back to the Future episodic game for Mac and PC came out just before Christmas.

The trailer looks really impressive in terms of graphics, sound, voice and just overall staying true to the films. Hopefully the game play is better than past games based on Back to the Future I can’t wait to buy and play the first episode. Look for a review… in the future.

Delorean Time Machine Hard Drive

// November 29th, 2010 // No Comments » // Computers, Film, Tech

Love this idea, if not the price — it combines a Back to the Future III DeLorean (notice the collection of tubes on the car’s hood, with a 500GB Seagate harddrive. OS X’s built-in back up software is called “Time Machine,” so why not make your backup hard drive an actual time machine? My external backup hard drive is named, “Flux Capacitor” and even has the Flux Capacitor icon. Yes, I’m that much of a dork.
