Time Warner's Pricing Paradox

// January 27th, 2008 // No Comments » // Internet / Web, Sad But True, Tech

Time Warner Road Runner High Speed OnlineIs there really anyone out there (besides Time Warner) who thinks this is a step in the right direction? As we get more and more streaming and large file download services from the likes of TiVo, Amazon, Netflix and Apple (iTunes – both rentals and purchases of standard and high def) among others, Time Warner’s paying for the bandwidth you use will only result in castration of these services and mass exodus away from Time Warner’s services. I really hope their idea dies a horrible and quick death.

Wayback Machine

This isn’t some groundbreaking new site, but Amanda and I have been sitting here tonight browsing through old sites utilizing the old Wayback Machine Internet Archive. It’s not a perfect archive, as a lot of the images and functionality is missing from older sites. Here’s a few to check out:

Apple (1996)
Stetson University (1997)
Best Buy (1996)
Keefer Madness (2001)
CNN (2000)

The web has come a long way in the past decade or so. I liked on some of the old sites requirements how it was old school stuff like Netscape, Internet Explorer 3, etc.
