Trying to Ramp Back Up
// September 10th, 2009 // Cycling, Personal Crap
There’s always that let down in attitude and activity after the cycling season. After a bunch of racing, training and just general riding, I typically take a bit of time off, eat poorly (or even more poor) and relax. This year, my season was shorter — not because of injury or equipment failure, thankfully, but rather the imminent [still] arrival of our first born Tyler.
Anyway, I haven’t become a complete couch potato, but have slacked off for sure. I have still been weight training two or three times a week, plus some running. Tonight though, I begrudgingly hopped on the trainer while we watched a movie in the den. It felt good to get back to the familiar and comfortable action of spinning. I’ve got to do that regularly again and I so welcome the day when I’m back on my Tarmac Expert out on the roads post-Tyler birth.
